Podcast of the Week #2-Jay & Silent Bob Get Old

"Every saga has a middle age..."

And with these words, cult film-maker Kevin Smith opens another episode of Jay & Silent Bob Get Old, his weekly podcast with his long time buddy, Jason Mewes. If you're a fan of Smith and his movies, you know them as the crazy stoner duo Jay and Silent Bob who weaved in and out of Smith's "Jersey" films, Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy and Clerks II and got their own spotlight film Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back!

But while Smith went on making films and starting a family, Mewes struggled with heroin addiction that only got worse as his fame as Jay grew. Smith was there for him, doing his best to help his best friend break the habit. Jason eventually did and the first few episodes of J&SBGO have them talking about those troubled years in front of a live audience. Not that it's all gloom. Our hosts put a lot of humor and random rambling into these stories (Who knew Jason like to paint Warhammer minis?). The later episodes are more of two buddies getting together rambling about whatever is on their minds that week (Usually something dirty...Most of the content on this show is NOT SAFE FOR WORK OR LITTLE KIDS!).

The last four episodes have ended with the duo doing a game for prizes with the audience. The one currently sticking around is "Let Us F%$#" where an audience member goes on stage to mimic a sex act with Mewes based on a title given by Smith. (Smith films it and posts it on the site)

All of this insanity is part of the growing SMODCAST podcast network of Smith and his other buddies doing their own podcasts.
